OCEAN OF SILENCE (1999), heruitgave (NL+E)

Evenals Whispers Of Nature van de Roemeense elektronische musicus Indra komt dit album uit 1999 en het album is eveneens een exponent van de rustige stijl van de Berlijnse School. De invloeden van Tangerine Dream van de jaren zeventig en zeker ook van Wavestar zijn goed hoorbaar in de drie tracks die Ocean Of Silence telt. Samen zijn ze goed voor krap 43 minuten muziek. De eerste track is een mooi, rustig stuk in die typische stijl van de Berliner Schule. In het tweede en derde nummer zijn pianoklanken te horen met als achtergrond lichte orkestraties en wat hol klinkende echoënde synthesizers. Deze nummers zijn behoorlijk zweverig en neigen meer richting ambient. Je kunt er lekker op ontspannen of mediteren, maar voor mij persoonlijk is dit album geen hoogvlieger.

Just as Whispers Of Nature this album originates from 1999 and is also an example of the more quiet Indra, a Romanian musician. Think, for instance, of the Berlin School. As references one can think of the music of Tangerine Dream of the seventies, but surely also elements of Wavestar can be heard throughout the three tracks on this album, together counting well over 42 minutes. The first track is a beautiful quiet piece in the vein of the Berlin School. In the second and third track one can hear piano sounds, a background of light orchestrations and hollow echoing synths. Altogether pretty floating music, more in the direction of ambient music. Nice for just relaxing, meditating or something similar, but for me personally not a highlight.
