We have seen this first hand on our race car’s previous setup and have addressed this issue on our turbo kit by routing the charge pipe as close to the bottom of the vehicle as possible in an area that is not lower than the sub frame of the vehicle, and not in danger of any road debris.Routing the charge pipe beneath the radiator and in the cool air, instead of above the radiator like most kits, allows cool air convection to take place as air passes underneath the vehicle and across the surface of the charge pipe. The VQ35HR engine, however, can manage around 20 whp and 20 wtq more than the DE variant thanks to its stronger internal components. When adding a turbo kit under the hood of these platforms, temperatures will obviously increase, and is a large concern on most forced induction kits. The compressor outlet travels alongside the passenger frame horn and wraps around the radiator support into the top of the intercooler, where a gradual increase in overall diameter is noticed at the intercooler. We have taken an extra step to ensure that the end user will not run into any check engine lights as well on our kit and we have created two extra bungs on the down pipe that are both within reach of the stock oxygen sensor harness to allow for the rear oxygen sensors to be functional unlike many kits on the market that require the removal of those sensors.The location of the waste gate has been placed away from the turbo and down-pipe and off of the collector in an effort to help sustain the boost pressure off of the waste gate spring and also eliminate any boost fluctuation throughout the entire power band. The Garret GTX3576R turbo has been chosen for the stage one package along with a 1.01 A/R exhaust side housing allowing for great spool time and continuous top end power.As the exhaust gases exit the engine and travel thru the 2.50″ diameter stainless steel piping, they will meet the turbosmart wastegate, which will help control the amount of boost that is made via a set wastegate spring of 7 psi.
