The pressure to tip (and over tip) is rampant in Madagascar and it was really getting old at this point on our trip and I certainly wasn't going to tip all 4 of them. Nevertheless, we apologize for the inconvenience. The lodge is pretty and the grounds are nice since you are right on the beach. Aufgenommen am 10.05.2017 in Mangily. All the rooms are on both sides of the main building. However, we are sorry to read that the rooms seemed poorly lit as they are set up to have enough light from the bulbs on the walls and lamps on both nightstands. There are lot of places to be in Mangily so, why not to try another one?. Plus, the lodge is really close to the entrance to the Mosa spiny forest. To top that off it was very hot and the the beer was room temperature and far from refreshing. Great boutique type - chalet style! We had lunch by the beach on the second day which was a lovely view however the problem is that there are lots of beach sellers walking up and down and watching you eat so it makes it rather uncomfortable, You will notice that hardly anyone sits & enjoys the beach and that is because the sellers are so persistent - its a real shame.
However the local vendors literally “camp out” at the stairs to the resort. Nice vegetarian choices. We hope to welcome you back again among us. When visiting Madagascar you have to take things as they come and appreciate not everything will be perfect, and as long as you do this your have a great time! The meal package was indeed a conference package decided following the choice of the organizers. A high quality restauration and rooms, private bungalows with a view into the lagoon. Most hotels in Madagascar prefer you to pre order your dinners during the day (something your quickly learn). The dinner was actually really good which was surprising based on the reviews we read. - This was the only hotel on our stay where we had to have the mosquito net over us all night because some of the windows had no screens and only wood shutters which kept nothing out. We hope to welcome you back again among us.
In the main building are located the reception, the lounge, the main bar, the main restaurant and the kitchen. My husband was getting over some stomach issues and the hotel went above and beyond to provide a simple/bland diet to allow his stomach to heal. So, if I were you, I would look to stay somewhere else in Ifaty.We spent 2 nights at the Dunes in November and really enjoyed our stay.
