I bought Kraftwerk's album Autobahn as a present for my dad and he was really impressed with it (for those who don't know, "Autobahn" is the German for "Motorway").

this is a great album, but posting it in a small padded envelope meant that the jewel case was cracked so badly that I had to replace it.

Its easy to pick up their trademark sound which is futuristic and robotic to some degree, anyway they had a lot of success with their albums over the years making them a very popular as well as a Live act..

This is probably the best you will ever hear the record on a format outside of higher resolution.More rhythmically oriented than their contemporaries Hütter’s new Minimoog was used extensively, while other instruments included an EMS Synthi, an ARP Odyssey and other early synthesisers.

I own vintage marantz amp and vintage speakers, the repoduction sound was brilliant, ( no compresion on the CD) , pure sound.

Obviously the CD sound quality is superior to the cassette version and it's been great to get reacquainted with this classic Kraftwerk masterpiece, It means even more now i can play it in the car on the Motorway!

It has developed into an art form that will go down in history as a late 20th Century, postmodern movement in music, photography, film, technology and culture that people will talk about 100 years from now and beyond. A fabulous pressing lets you hear this special album as never before.

I personally would have greatly enjoyed some kind of band history and photographs to fill me in on what the band was all about around the time of the album's 1974 recording (a prolific year for many artists in other music genres across the board). Even Disco owes a debt to the drum machine beat of Kraftwerk.

What could have been for this listener pining away for what was carelessy left out. All I will say is the word Kraftwerk stands for much more than a progressive rock or pop group. The other four tracks on the album are considerably shorter than the title track, although "Kometenmelodie 1" ("Comet Melody 1") and "Kometenmelodie 2" ("Comet Melody 2") are the longer of the other four tracks at 6:26 and 5:48 respectively - "Mitternacht" ("Midnight") and "Morgenspaziergang" ("Morning Walk") are around the 4-minute mark.
